According to a statement from the lead developer (username "MothCultist") on Patreon: “The original artist who coded the rj0 animation pipeline left the team and took the proprietary build tools with them. Rebuilding the asset from scratch would delay Episode 3 by six months. The 'unofficial' fix uses a reverse-engineered workaround, which we cannot legally distribute ourselves.” For commercial use of this fix in repacks
