So, what did I learn from this vacation? Well, for starters, that even the best-laid plans can go awry. But more importantly, that family vacations are about so much more than just the destination – they're about the experiences, the laughter, and the memories you create along the way.

While walking to the pool, my 8-year-old son tripped on a loose paving stone and face-planted into a nearby bush. Thankfully, he was okay, just a bit shaken (and dirty). My partner and I rushed him to the nearby first-aid station, where the kind staff helped clean him up and gave us some much-needed ice packs. oopsfamily231113myramoansvacationatstep
