This is the Project’s best-selling album. With the rise of MTV and synth-pop, the Project adapted. Ammonia Avenue is slicker, featuring heavy use of the Fairlight CMI sampler. The title track and "Don’t Answer Me" (with an animation-style music video) were hits. While some fans miss the edge of earlier works, the album is lush and emotional.
